Hi, I had a lumpectomy and full node clearance 3 weeks ago. The wounds have healed well. Just wondering if anyone has been advised to apply any creams to the wounds or should they be left dry?
Hello, good to hear you are healing well. I use scar cream but was not advised to do so. Stopped during radiation and then started up again when I got the Ok. Healed and scar is flat and almost totally faded. Had surgery done in Nov 2021 and Feb 2022. It helps to keep skin moisturized. Barbara
Hi, I was advised to use E45 cream all over but once the scabs had fallen off I was allowed to used Bio Oil. This really helps with the tightness and also helps the appearance if uaed long term. Good luck. Big hugs xxx
Oh great, I’ll get some Bio Oil then if it’s good for the tightness cos that’s my main issue now. Pain is easing but the tight feeling is horrible!! Thanks for that xxx
moobloo I’ve only used E45 since my scar healed over. I had surgery- wide local excision on 8th February and I’m amazed how good my scar is . It’s smooth and fading already.
I used aveeno cream which I am still using and had my op in September last year. My scars have healed really well. I think very gentle massage when you put the cream on really helps with the tightness. Ithink E45, bio oil, aveeno - all seem fine. I didn’t moisturise before radiotherapy session but did afterwards.
