Hi.
I now have a date for my surgery (9th February) and have decided to have therapeutic mammaplasty then radiotherapy rather than mastectomy and reconstruction.
I'm struggling to find a bra for post surgery. I know it needs to be non wired and supportive and have been looking at the front zipped ones. I've looked on M&S site but have bad reviews with sizeing. Did find an Asda one with good review but my order has been delayed!
The breastcancer nurse has told me it will be hard to know what size to get as it will fit different after surgery anyway and I will wake up wearing one but I won't be sent home with another one so want to have at least one other!
I'm currently a 32F.
Does anyone have any guidance experience to offer please.
Thank you xxx
I got my post mastectomy bras from Amoena https://www.amoena.com/uk-en/ They weren't cheap but they had a huge range of post op wear. Couldn't fault the customer service. They offer free returns so you can order a range of sizes and return what you don't need. I did phone them for some advice on what to order and they were helpful. I used the courier service as it was during the postal strikes and I was worried they would get stuck somewhere.
I bought the m£s post surgery bra front fastener with all the hooks. I use them all the time, went a size up and they fit good enough for now. Need to start looking for new ones but these are really comfortable. I also bought a royse bra with front poppers which is also good.
Hi I had a double theraputic mammoplasty 8th February last year I was an H cup and my surgeons said they would reduce to a about a DD after lumpectomy but with swelling post op bra should be a size up so bought M&S front fastening bra in E cup and found it very comfy and surprisingly supportive... Good luck with your surgery..
I was a H cup and I'm now a E/F after my mammoplasty. I bought a front fastening surgery bra from M&S which was good but I also bought this one from Cancer Research shop:
https://shop.cancerresearchuk.org/product/cancer-research-uk-post-surgery-comfort-bra
It's made from mostly viscose derived from bamboo and it's much comfier and more supportive than the M&S ones, it's lovely and soft and the strapsare nicely padded. Good luck with your surgery.
