Hi I had a lumpectomy at the beginning of December & went back to see consultant a week later who told me the cancer had not spread to my lymph nodes . I have noticed that the swelling in my breast has not gone down it feels like a bowling ball.. I just need some radiotherapy treatment which I have to start in second week of January. Can anyone give me advice on how I will feel during treatment, thanks.
My stamina was fluctuating before this diagnosis, I'm 66 now, but I'm determined. We work all our lives to get to this point. It was on the day of my 66th birthday, first time I'd used my bus pass and I got this strange spasm in my breast that went on for hours. I like your encouraging comment, wow swimming 40 lengths. I want to dance inside and outside with my group and perform when I'm up to it. Something I only took up 4 yrs ago. Xxxxx
Keep that vision of dancing, it’ll not be long at all but allow yourself the necessary slower pace to recuperate. It was only a week ago I was so breathless and sluggish, not so much fatigued as no get up n go. I’d love to hear when you get to enjoy a dance x
I went last week and danced with my group outside, I also went to the gym. First time for 2 mths. Just to prove to myself I could, I've been trying not to bounce the boob. 7 days till result. Good ias though. I'm a bit paranoid about catching anything, mask wearing in the gym not easy. Took my son to see Avatar wore a mask for 3 hrs, it's amazing what we do if we have to. The thing about being
ith a group if women who know you is the encouragement. I choose life is my mantra bring it on, 7 days to get the Oncotype DX, my pendulum has told me twice I'm not having chemo, I believe it.
Sorry can't remove all these faces the message disappears if I try. Xx
That’s fantastic news!! That’s the warrior in us and in my case anyway, an attitude I didn’t think I’d have again. Here’s to a positive healthy new year with loads of dancing and joy! X
Don't know if I already responded. I think avoiding areas that were operated on are the best policy for massage. Gentle massage is best. I knew someone who was a body worker, fascia release. That was painful, she used me to practice on. Ask the the experts on here first. My arm is at risk of Lymphoedema I wouldn't want anything but gentle stroking on that, have to stroke the right way as well. I'm being cautious until I have absorbed all the rules. Xxx
