Here's a new thread for discussions around chemotherapy, as the existing threads were getting a little long.

Please do let us know if you have any other threads you think would be useful to link here.

  • Claud/Amimal sorry you are both going through it.  I’m not too bad after my 1st Paclitaxel. Day 3 - My face is a little bit flushed and a little stingy, managed a little walk today and yesterday as well. Getting out when I can in case it changes.  Definitely not looking forward to EC so trying not to look ahead.  They think I might have a couple of weeks before my hair starts falling out - even typing that line out doesn’t feel real. Take care

  • Hi Moco,do they say hair falls out slower with the paclatexal?I thought I read tho may have been mistaken that someone's hair started growing back once starting paclatexal and finished EC?glad you getting a little excercise,it's the not knowing what e are going to feel like day after day like you say.I sat in the garden a couple of times today, I have my covid swab tomorrow so hopefully I'll feel ok and then will try a little walk x

  • Hi Claud - I have had a face rash on Day 12 on both my treatments (perjata, docetaxel & trastuzumab)…like a bad heat rash so was prescribed steroid cream and anti-inflammentary which helped after a couple of days. Nothing yet on head but have heard of others with this issue. Take care

    Hi Cami

Thank u for writing. Day11 today for me, same treatment as you. I find it tough my doc doesn't want to prescribe me meds apart fr the normal but good to know these work for u. I asked for cortisone cream he just asked me to pop to chemist to buy. Sigh!! Like I want to expose myself this way!

It's good to know others have this. Apparently 50% do on tchp...sigh!

Everyday is a new discovery...lol let's see what tomorrow brings. I have rubbed some aloe all over my face for now. Looks like plastic face now lol

When is your next cycle Cami??

  • I think I read that too Amimal but they tell me I will lose my hair 2-3 weeks in - I know the SE are more tolerable than EC but not sure if hairless is slower. Hope you are feeling ok tomorrow but just take things at your own pace x

Moco, it's nice to hear from u. A day at a time, don't look too far ahead. You can worry yourself silly otherwise. I am just glad it's the weekend as then no school runs etc. I just can relax. I may try anti dandruff shampoo now it's flaking...I feel like I am morphing lol

Looks like we are around the same time to shed hair. I am tempted to go for a pixie cut.

  • Ah I feel for you fitting in school runs with everything. Stressful at the best of times so hoping you get to relax over the weekend. I might start looking at wigs soon, my hairdresser said she would cut it for me. Might go wild and get something with a bit of pink on the ends ….

  • I've had my first EC  on 30 Dec and cold capped, it was all done in 3 hours. I didn't ice hands or feet so can't advise on that.

I've had minimal side effects so far, got my next round on 20th

Haircube does quite reasonable priced ones on Amazon around £20ish. I don't know about vouchers through NHS. Ask your bcn

Yes try to have fun with it, no harm in that. I will try to find a mobile hairdresser for next week appointment....sleep well x.

  • Terrible nights sleep, woke up with aching hips and thighs and seemed to be sweating one minute and freezing the next. Not sure if it's the chemo, Herceptin injection or the flistagrim injections, who knows!

Ive just done a LFT but it's negative- so paranoid about getting Covid. Just can't believe how well I felt during those  2 weeks when I didn't have any treatment- my energy levels were really good compared to now. Gives me hope - 4 more treatments to go then it's radiotherapy.

    Hope everyone is ok
