Has anyone had experience of Radiotherapy as opposed to Axillary lymph clearance?

    Hi Anabrok

Thank you for your reply. It would be interesting to know how you get on. We all have difficult decisions to make and need to be able to make an informed choice.

  • My mum had two positive lymph nodes. Was very confusing as they said radiotherapy will be given. But then when we saw oncologist she said they should’ve also offered. As when we saw the oncologist she first thought the clearance was done.
and then, another mdt was done as it was all Muddled up and they came to the conclusion that radiotherapy should be sufficient. It will be a weeks worth radiotherapy

  • Thank you. A little confused again though, as this time the radiographer said the radiotherapy will be given to the axilla- and pointed at the crease of the shoulder. I was in the assumption that the whole under arm would be treated. So I am confused again

    Hi Daizy03

If you have chance ask the radiographer about this. If this isn't possible suggest asking your mum's allocated breast nurse.

  • i have a lot of issues with the breast nurse. She never responds, that’s another story. Not sure if we should just wait till next week and then I can ask when the radiotherapy is starting.
