Hello

I've just been diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer grade 3 triple negative I'm so scared is anyone going through the same?

  • Thanks Wally .  I am on a steroid high today so on a bit of a mission been out for a long walk with the mutt and now going to pressure wash the patio . My family trying to hold me back telling me not do too much but they got no chance JoyJoyJoy

  • Amazing harleybear halfway now. Keep pushing forward, so pleased it has been reduced for you. My healing going well, in no pain or discomfort now, and each day more movement coming back. I am being checked by consultant today. Once histology back from surgery results will go to mdt again  and will confirm radiotherapy or not from there. My consultant said they had decided yes from my last surgery but his last words to me before surgery was, it's highly likely dcis could of burnt itself out but they wouldn't know until surgery because it didn't show on scan. My nipple discharge has stopped which is a symptom of dcis. I am prepared for either and I know my team will make the best decision for me. Had no 6 herceptin on Friday so that is moving forward as well. If no radiotherapy I could be near the end of my treatment. My breast consultant has said they will arrange my mammogram on my other breast for me then. Best wishes everyone xxx

  • Great news Shaz , maybe you will get away with radiotherapy which would be fab .  Look how far we have all come since that awful winter we all had .  Now heading to summer and most of us will be done or nearly done with active cancer treatment.  Then the mental healing begins and I think for me at least it will be a long road as still can’t accept mastectomy.  I am going to ask to see surgeon again when stronger to discuss this and I am going to talk to the cancer psychologist so I am addressing it .  Keep us updated Shaz xxx

  • Very good that you only have 6 more chemo sessions to go. I read your post about the mutt wrongly and thought you'd pressure washed him in a burst of volcanic activity!! You have been rushing about energetically, so good to hear that. Don't blow a gasket though. Remember to rest as well. I have an appt in Breast Clinic in about a week to check and 2 days later mammogram so hope everything will be OK. I have to admit that I've got to the point where I don't fancy being prodded about but needs must.

  • Hi V good to hear from you .  Don’t think the mutt would have been too impressed with being pressure washed  JoyJoy  Good for get checked though , more reassurance that all is ok . Let us know how you get on xxx

  • That's great that you are half way through your chemo and that you are back on track after a rough couple of weeks.  I'm doing ok thanks.  My eldest niece who I haven't seen for 3 years due to the pandemic is coming over to Ireland for 6 days next Thursday.  I'm really looking forward to seeing her.

Hopefully the reduced dose of chemo will help with the side effects.

  • Hi everyone, how are we all doing. Hope everyone's treatment is going well xxx

  • Hi, how are you doing?  I have my last radiotherapy today and then to start Tamoxifen in 6 weeks and hopefully go on the waiting list for reconstruction.

Hope everyone else is doing ok?
