Hello

I've just been diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer grade 3 triple negative I'm so scared is anyone going through the same?

  • I’ve had two MRIs now. The second was easier as I already knew I had cancer and wasn’t so worried about the results. Do talk to the radiographer when you go in and see if talking to them can centre you a bit. You’ve already been through the worst and you’ve coped with the hair loss. They were really good at not rushing me and getting me comfortable as possible the second time around. The first time I was just in shock

  • I just wanted the whole MRI thing over as soon as possible. Had it done with a CT scan as well jus before it.Took a long time, and I agree that the position (face down) is uncomfortable. There were quite a lot of patients about when I went, mainly men, who wanted to talk all about their treatment. I didn't know where to put my clothes, and no-one told me either, so I relied on the other patients to inform me.These little details are important at the time, I hate wandering about in those ridiculous gowns that open with a load of men sitting about the place. In the end I was so fed up I didn't care.I do remember though running out of the hospital as fast as I could once I was free to go.....out into the normal world and some fresh air and noloud banging and clanking civil engineering type noises.

  • Did you get the results yet ? If so how is your tumour responded.  I think my breast feels softer since starting chemo but I could be imaging it .   I can’t get on with the wig so am living in hats .  Xxx

  • Sounds like me , I was dripping with sweat after too as I was so incredibly stressed by it all xxx

I'm unsure I have tried feeling it but makes me feel funny, it's 10am so nice and early x

  • Hi I have had my first follow up after diep. The nurse looked at it gave some of the area a clean, removed some tape and then consultant looked and decided I needed antibiotics and that was it. Next one in two weeks. However, the monitoring in hospital was checking wounds every 15 minutes and that the blood vessels were working, blood pressure, heart rate and temp. This then went to 30 minutes, then an hour till eventually you were at 6 hourly checks after about 4 days. I think this is definitely the critical stage. After first check up the nurse gave me their number and if I feel any issues or suspect infection I can ring straight away. I am only doing fortnightly checks as I live 2 hours away from hospital but have the option to send in photos . So don’t feel neglected in anyway. Hope this helps for you . XX

  • Morning Jayne.

Good to know this. Thank you. I don't know why I think so but I just want the medics to say something more concrete to me. So far no one has delivered me any good news wg hooray your cancer is out with clear margins (although a letter came saying that), or good news no spread (again said in letter only) its like they just don't dare to give me any reason to keep my hopes up. Sigh. Maybe here I go overthinking again. As u can imagine I just need to hear something positive!!

New dawn new day (makes me want to put Michael Buble on!)  I sure hope you chill as much and ride out your lower days and let someone take care of you. Its hard to not be able to do much...I am trying to be proud of being an expert on doing NOTHING. That is a job in itself!!

Just dorp us a line here if you waver.

    C x
