    Hi Springat last

    Thanks for the reply.

I am having 8 cycles 4 of ec and 4 of the docetaxel.

My first is 1 1/2 hours so i assume the will all be that long?

I was told to take sweets as it tastes very metallic so i got some mints.

  • Hi Angi66 - the first one is very scary but you will be fine. Be kind to yourself afterward and don't overdo it, you'll likely feel tired the first few days.

I had EC-T too and the docetaxel takes longer as it is an IV drip that is administered over an hour whereas the EC the sit with you and inject it themselves. By the time you have your pre-meds and the flush afterwards, it's more like 2.5 - 3 hours in oncology.

    Good luck, you'll be fine.

    Hi Beatthe breast

Thanks for that they told me it is a drip in my hand for 1.5 hours for the first 4 cycles.

Unfortunately after getting so worked up the oncologist called me an hour before I was due to leave to say he is not happy doing it today.

I broke my ankle 18 days ago and it was put back for 2 weeks but he still isn't happy as it could open my wounds up again as I had a clean break and metalwork  and quite a few stitches.

I felt really sick when he cancelled but I have had a word with myself and till he calls me again  In a week or so I am going to try just push it to the back of my mind if possible x
