Hi everyone.

I was diagnosed with grade 2 invasive Lobular Carcinoma on the 2nd June. Waiting on surgery date but pre-ops are done.

Had an mri and was told the next day as it is measuring at 8cm I had to have a ct scan to see if there anything in my body. I been told this is normal, but was wondering how long people waited on there ct scan results as it been nearly a week and I've not heard anything.

Obviously this is playing on my mind.

Thanks

  • Hello Daisy79 I can appreciate that you're worried about the wait for the CT results. My recent experience was that my CT results were through within a day or two but I wasn't contacted and told of the results straight away, I was given the results (all clear) at my next hospital appointment. I guess wait times will vary from hospital to hospital so it may be worth giving your nurse a call to help put your mind at rest but I'm sure that you'll receive them soon, and good luck with the rest of your treatment x

  • Hi Daisy79…..I waited 2weeks for results of bone scan and CT, got them yesterday, thankfully all clear…….but I know I couldn’t think about anything else while waiting, it is the hardest time that’s for sure! Hope your wait isn’t too much longer.

    Best wishes x

  • Hi MrsPolly

I’m glad to hear that your scans are all clear.

    Best wishes

  • For me, waiting for the CT scar results was the absolute worst part of the entire process. I really feel for you if you don't know when you are getting the results.

They told me I needed the CT scan at my surgeon appointment at the same time they said I needed chemo first. They booked me in with the oncologist for 2 weeks' time and said I'd get my CT scan results then.

CT scan itself was just over a week later, so I waited just under a week for results.

I always knew when I was getting them though. If they'd managed to fit in my CT scan earlier, I wouldn't have got the results any earlier than the face to face appointment with oncologist.

Do you have any appointments coming up?

  • Thank you everyone for the replys.

No I don't have any further appointments at the moment, just said they will be in touch. Think that's what I'm finding hardest isn't just watching for a phone call all the time.
