I’m new here. Apologies for a bit of a long post!!
Diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in April. Had lumpectomy in May and started taking Letrozole.
I had an early menopause (aged 35) and couldn’t take HRT partly because the GP kept telling me I was too young and also because of my mum’s previous breast cancer diagnosis.
The menopause was ok and I was able to manage symptoms myself, but this super charged menopause 2.0 is something else!
I’ve spent the past 8 weeks being bounced back and forth from my breast cancer team to the GP to prescribe meds for the side effects.
Yesterday I had an appointment with a wonderful endocrinologist who went through some helpful strategies as well as meds I can be prescribed. She explained Letrozole menopause symptoms are dreadful.
I had a text from my GP to call them so have spoken to a doctor today. I felt really belittled and she said that the weather is very warm anyway and that she didn’t sleep well last night because of the heat. 
I’m starting radiotherapy next week and am feeling utterly exhausted already as well as feeling sick every day for the last 2 weeks so now I’m dreading my radiotherapy.
I’ve also got to have a hysterectomy as I have borderline changes to my remaining ovary (had borderline Stage 1a when I was 27). The gynae team keep pushing me for surgery as they’ve already delayed it due to the breast cancer being diagnosed 1 day prior! I have an appointment with the gynae consultant the day after my radiotherapy finishes to discuss the date for surgery. Not sure they are going to give me any recovery time from my radiotherapy.
Do the side effects for Letrozole get any better? (I’m taking it for 5 years)
I am exhausted with it all.
