I was recently diagnosed with triple positive BC after results of second beast conserving op to get clear margin. In all it was 33mm combined with Extensive DCIs so overall 76mm. Lymph nodes clear but have painful base of spine so having CT scan. have just been told to stop taking anastrozole as it may be counteracting with it being triple positive.
just started chemotherapy EC this week then will go onto docetaxel and herceptin
Be lovely to hear from anyone else travelling this journey?
must admit the BC and oncology teams are amazing
Hi Parisa
I had the most terrible tum on docetaxel but tum ok on phesgo. Just one more to go for me next week. I get a strange reaction to Herceptin and now phesgo. Swollen neck and lower face. Very weird but I prefer to have this rather than cut the treatment course short. Now I get a big load of IV steroids and antihistamines half an hour before phesgo. This prevents any immediate reaction, but by day 5/6 onward I puff up again.
On the bright side, just once more and then I hope it all goes away.
You should speak to your onc or BC nurse about your tum. It could be that the effect of the chemo on your tum is taking a while to wear-off and get back to normal.
Depending on what it is doing there is usually something that can help. You have a lot more cycles to go and you want to be as comfortable as possible
Hope you can get it sorted

Thanks, although I’ve mentioned it to my oncologist she didn’t seem particularly concerned! I don’t want her to lower dose tho because of it but I’m speaking to her again shortly so see what she says. Lucky you on your last phesgo! Fingers crossed your reaction will settle. SE’s are not nice but as you say, and my thoughts exactly, I’d rather take whatever they throw at me and manage the effects. Best wishes x
Hi Louise0906, I am in the same boat, but I chose a lumpectomy instead. no node involvement. I am so curious what treatment you had? I need to make a decision.
