I was recently diagnosed with triple positive BC after results of second beast conserving op to get clear margin. In all it was 33mm combined with Extensive DCIs so overall 76mm. Lymph nodes clear but have painful base of spine so having CT scan. have just been told to stop taking anastrozole as it may be counteracting with it being triple positive.
just started chemotherapy EC this week then will go onto docetaxel and herceptin
Be lovely to hear from anyone else travelling this journey?
must admit the BC and oncology teams are amazing
Hi Bupy
I don't have the experience with triple positive breast cancer that you're looking for but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies to your post yet.
I've had a look in the group and can see that both and have posted about having triple positive breast cancer recently. I've tagged them into my reply to you and hope they'll pop by and share their experiences with you.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment in your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi,
Triple positive here too! Have my first appointment with my oncologist today had left mastectomy on 14th May no lymph node involvement and no cancer cells found.
My anxiety is at its highest right now really struggling currently.
Hi Bupy,
How are you doing, have you started you EC treatment yet?
I was diagnosed back in February and have completed 4 rounds of EC, I was extremely lucky and pretty much sailed through that.
I had my first round of Docetaxel with herceptin 10 days ago and have to say that I have been completely floored by it and and have spent 2 days in hospital this week. That said I think part of it was due to my complacency. I believed that I would get through this half just as easy and left it too late with the pain and any diarrhoea medication.
if you have any questions I’m happy to help, I hope you’re doing as well as you can be at the minute.
Take care xx
Hi
Yep it’s like a rollercoaster, I was quite complacent and was quite shocked at the aggressive treatment even though it’s early stage. What keeps me going is that it’s cured and there is an end to this nightmare and the treatment is to stop it returning. I have a little holiday booked in a few weeks which is keeping me going as looking forward to smelling the sea and being away from hospital xx Hang in there Louise, you’ve got this xx
Hi Db
Really means a lot that someone else has it as it doesn’t seam to be as common. Started my first cycle last week but I ended back in hospital Friday as body reacted to the steroids. Good news they did CT and clear of cancer.
Yeh, you need to listen to your body but it’s difficult and frustrating, feel for you. I actually look really well but feel rotten inside on some days. Any tips for sore mouth and reflux.
will you be having radiotherapy and hormonal treatment as well at the end? They’ve just took me off HT as said not as responsive with triple positive.
Big hug and take care
Hi, I’m HER2 positive, Er and P positive, consultant hasn't mentioned to this as being’ triple positive ‘ but from research I’m assuming I am ? Is this the same thing ? I’m 6 weeks post mastectomy , 1 sentinel node involved out of 6 and waiting for node clearance in two weeks, just want to sort treatment now, it’s taking forever!
Yes - 3rd cycle of chemo and oncologist appt this week so quite anxious. Bone pain is the worse thing ever… not really nauseous so a bit of luck there. Gone right off alcohol and fed up with squash, any suggestions? Will let you know how I get on. Stay strong. People ask how are you ? I say tired, bald and bored but feeling very loved.
Kind of. They found DCIS with one HER2 positive tumour and one HER2 negative. All were progesterone and oestrogen receptor positive. Nobody mentioned the term Triple Positive.
I had my mastectomy in March, started EC-T chemo mid-May and have just had my last of 3 EC cycles. The next 4 will be Docetaxel and I'm worried about it.
I had sickness and nausea with the first cycle, then they changed my meds from Metoclopramide to Ondansetron for the 2nd cycle and that was worse. The 3rd cycle I had Akynzeo and I wasn't sick or nauseated but I felt terrible for a week. Much as I hate being sick, I've concluded I'd rather just be sick for a day and get it over with!
Do you have a date for the CT yet? Good luck!
3rd cycle of EC here as well.
Yes, my favourite red wine tastes horrible and makes me hurt the next day, even just 1 glass. Do you like herbal teas? I'm drinking lots of the Pukka 3 gingers and the peppermint and liquorice. They go down well.
All the best with the oncologist's appointment. All mine are telephone. They sent me a list showing that only 1 was a telcon, so DH took a day off and we trekked into the city to be told it was a telcon. They saw me in the end, thankfully, but DH was v cross!
