I was recently diagnosed with triple positive BC after results of second beast conserving op to get clear margin. In all it was 33mm combined with Extensive DCIs so overall 76mm. Lymph nodes clear but have painful base of spine so having CT scan. have just been told to stop taking anastrozole as it may be counteracting with it being triple positive.
just started chemotherapy EC this week then will go onto docetaxel and herceptin
Be lovely to hear from anyone else travelling this journey?
must admit the BC and oncology teams are amazing
Hi, Shaz52, doing great thankyou! Had 2nd chemo last Thursday, apart from feeling abit woozy for a couple of days I’ve been absolutely fine so far, doing what I normally do but having 10 min sit downs in between as slightly weary during day. Hair started to drop second week post first course then big time so braved the shave and totally liberating, didn’t feel upset as was soooo sick of vacuuming my hair up ! I’ve been prescribed x3 EC then x3 Docetaxel, then x8 possibly Phesgo which is just a subcut injection but will see oncologist prior, radiotherapy then tabs.
Start to finish so far for treatment lm literally on my way home In an hour and a half, it’s a bolus injection thru my picc line, ( the picc line is great and not uncomfortable at all, so much easier) the nurse sits with you throughout whilst she slowly administers it, tea and toast on tap ! It all sounds daunting but to be fair you soon get into it and I cant believe I’m two down already ! You’ll be well looked after, keep us informed how you get on lovely xx

yes I was diagnosed in April, rt mastectomy in May 2 mm tumour, grade 2, stage 3 now simply as 1 lymph node involved at the time out of 6 removed, July I had a axcilliary node clearance of a further 8 but all clear so 1 nasty out of the 14 taken. I’m Er 8 and PR 6 Her pos , although my tumour was her neg the node was her pos so the oncologist requested the pathologist re test tissue but he says still triple pos. Yes write all your questions down when you think of them. Oncologist was great went thru everything, print off sheets regarding treatment/ side effects etc, I asked all sorts important to me, and regarding recurrence and survival, think she said around 84% of patients are still cancer free at 5 years (that’s as far as the trials went )with treatment so no brainer really, she had an online chart from trials done, doesn’t mean to say we won’t have a blip but absolutely not a given!

see your starting chemo today, the chemo nurse will explain everything as she’s giving your treatment, you’ll be fine, I was about 8/9 weeks post surgery when I started. Remember, surgery got rid of the cancer and this is the mopping up treatment . Relax for the next few days , drink loads of water, as much as you can and keep on top of any side effects you may have. I sailed thru the first no problem, 2 nd one same really although my blood pressure has dropped in last few days but otherwise I’m fine x
