Hello everyone,
I will finally see my breast care team on Thursday to get the results of my lymph node surgery to see if there is any spread and to find out what the next step for treatment plan is. I had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy where one of three was positive. I’m really hoping that all the others are clear and that I will only need radiotherapy as originally thought! Are any of you waiting for results? It’s horrible waiting!
Me too. Three sentinel nodes taken, one clear, two not. Each set of results for me sees things get worse so I feel that even hoping for any more of the remaining 17 to be clear is highly ambitious! I may get mine tomorrow- or they may not be back in time for team meeting tomorrow which then pushes it all into next week. Sending solidarity and best wishes
Hi Historywoman,
Sorry to hear things haven’t been going too well for you! Hopefully things will start to look up for you soon. I’m not sure how many lymph nodes were taken as I know it varies from person to person (and I didn’t think to ask). Let me know how you get on tomorrow.
Thank you. Not too much longer to wait now.
Best wishes x
Hi - aaagh my results weren’t back so rebooked for next Wednesday. I did think based on my experience of the last 4 months that getting analysis of all the rest of my lymph nodes back within 9 days could be optimistic and they have said every time (I think this is the third) that path lab results take between 1.5 and 2.5 weeks. I was all ready to go though but BCN called me at lunchtime when they were out of multi disciplinary team meeting. I did go however to have my implant inflated a little more. Small steps. I also googled how to address the natural anxiety of waiting for test results and am trying to follow suggestions.
best wishes for tomorrow Kazco x
Oh I’m so sorry to hear that! You must be so frustrated. You do get yourself prepared so that’s not good you have another wait. Thank you for your good luck wishes. It’s going to be a long morning tomorrow before I go.
Best wishes xx
Oh how truly frustrating. Hopefully you can find some things to take your mind off it, at least for some time. The waiting is the toughest.
Hi Kazco. I am waiting for an appt re results following mastectomy and sentinel node surgery. I guess the waiting is the worse. (Two weeks so far.) Too much time for your imagination to start working overtime! I am hoping for just the tablets, but who knows! They said it would be two to three weeks before I received an appt so hopefully not too much longer to wait. Trying not to think about it too much but its hard. My husband has dementia and I have to explain everything almost on a daily basis. Don't mind too much about the removal of my boob (I am 70.) Tell us what happens on Thursday and I will be thinking of you. Hugs from Mal xxx
