Hello everyone.

I am about to start this treatment next Tuesday and wondered if anyone else is either on this treatment or has tried it in the past.

Long History of Cancer.. breast removed then secondary 18mths later in the back of the neck ( this has changed sides of the body) had chemio for that. Then growths armpit area which have been monitored for a few years and behaved themselves, couldn't be removed due to location near to large blood vessel..

Now found breast cancer cells in colon ... this cancer is certainly doing its travels and like to add without any travel passes from me either.. lol

I am hoping that someone else has had this treatment i am aware if it doesn't work or my body doesn't cope well with it it will be chemio trail although these will have an effect on my immune system.

  • Hi

Whilst I don't have any experience of these drugs to share with you I noticed that your post hadn't had any response yet. Replying to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussions list where it'll be easier to spot.

While you're waiting for replies if you type the names of the treatments individually into the group's search bar it will bring up any previous posts that mention it. You could then have a read through those and respond to any of the more recent posts if you think the poster might be able to help you further.

Wishing you all the best with your upcoming treatment.

Hi , I am on palbo with letrozole and have been for just over a year.  I don't have any problems with the combination and have so far remained stable since being on them.  You might find more info over on the secondary breast cancer chat.  There will probably be others who are on fulvestrant.

    Best wishes

  • I have been told.if my body copes with it it could hold the cancer or even improve my cancer marker..drop it. The most time I could get out of this combination is 18 months to 2 years before I will be looking at chemio again..

Not sure whether I have made the correct choice wondering whether I should have just gone straight to the chemio now.. but need to give this a bash first..  a couple of months and if no improvement or it doesn't hold it then chemio it will be.

Upto now not found anyone else on this combination.. I was fine with letrozole but my cancer worked it's way around that..it's a clever bugger this cancer.

  • Hi, I have been on this treatment since August 2020. Having the injections every month is easy. I started on the higher dosage of ibrance but found I couldn't tolerate it (awful mouth ulcers which covered my mouth so was unable to eat) so my doseage was lowered.I'm now on100mg. I still get the odd mouth ulcer but it's fine. The only side effect that I have is my hair has thinned but I'm willing to put up with its it's working really well for me. Stay positive.

  • Hello

Just developed a mouth ulcer... 1st one.. might be just a one off fingers crossed.

Washed out this week sleeping pattern also all over the place..knackered today but can't sleep which is a pain.

Only had 3 rounds of every two weeks with injections now having four week gap. Bloods low to start this round but fingers crossed they bounce back on the week off of the ibrance.

Hoping my body eventually settles down and gets use to the treatment..

Had some hair loss also.. but again that should settle.

    Nothing ventured nothing gained..

    Onwards and upwards..

Glad it is working for you..brillaint news

  • I must admit I don't go to bed until I'm knackered, so I don't lay awake thinking! I forgot to say I take a calcium pill everyday as well. Take care.
