Hi

I had radiotherapy in February and I started taking Tamoxifen tablets in January.  Can anyone tell me how long the tiredness lasts please as I still get really tired.  Also could the Tamoxifen be causing tiredness.  I've also been feeling quite sick at times, could the Tamoxifen be causing this?

Thanks very much

  • Hi

I can't give you an answer unfortunately as it seems to be as long as it takes your body to get over it.  I'm not on Tamoxifen, but Anastrozole and I find that a dozen Almonds first thing in the morning stops any sickness feeling that I get (I take my tablet in the morning).  If I forget to have my almonds, which are my breakfast then I do remember to eat something then as the sickness feeling will start.  I drink green tea first thing too and I think it might be the green tea, perhaps coupled with the Anastrozole causes the sickness feeling.

When having radiotherapy, they advise to drink as much as possible to reduce fatigue symptoms, so it could be worth increasing your fluid intake to see if this improves your tiredness now.

Hopefully, someone with experience of radio. fatigue will pop on soon with some better suggestions for you.

    Best wishes, Lesley
