Hello everyone,
I'm Steph from the Community team, I hope you don't mind me posting here.
We've been asked to create a new thread for chemo discussions this April, as the existing threads were getting a little long.
Please do let us know if you have any other threads you think would be useful to link here.
I also had a rough time after third FEC, took 9 days for me to get up and about.
I have taken to knitting and jigsaws to spend sometime away from Netflix.
What about a spot of retail therapy, even if it has to be online?
I have started watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix, it's a bit cheesy but is light hearted and easy watching.
I would normally watch crime dramas, especially the true story ones but decided I needed something more uplifting!
After my surgery I started Friends from the beginning so it didn't matter if I fell asleep and missed bits
Hope you start to feel more like yourself soon xx
I've been hit harder after my 3rd EC too Iblodwin. I've slept soo much more than previous 2 and definitely more fatigued. I've also felt so much more bloated as well, not eaten as well and smells especially household smells have really got to me , making me wretch. I'm on day 6 which I'm usually picking up more by now but not this cycle.
Hope everyone's treatment goes ahead as planned and SE ease for all
Take care xx
My last chemo is also 21 May, can’t come quick enough now, also 2nd covid jab 2 days before, are you having surgery after Ista ?
Out of darkness cometh light
Have you tried using an electric heat pack for pain? I find it really helps with sore back/legs/hips. Less hassle than a hot water bottle/microwave heat pack as you don't have to move from your bed! Especially good in the middle of the night!
My chemo nurse usually lets me see my blood results while I’m getting my infusion. You’re entitled to see your notes if you ask. I felt really awful after my 3rd EC, was exhausted for 13 days. Still got fatigue with Docetaxel but usually pick up after injections stop on day9. I’m just sleeping a bit more and probably need to rest in between housework a bit more as fatigue is cummulative I believe.

I’ve done so many jigsaws in between TV, great way to pass time, loads on Amazon or This Works website. Audible books are great to listen to if you can’t be bother Ed reading.
