Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows how I go about getting a voucher for a wig? Also, I'm currently waiting to start chemo but i will need to have my ovarys put to sleep beforehand. I've been given appts for a heart scan and told to contact dentist but no mention of an appt for that. Does anyone have any idea when I will be getting that? And how is it done? Is it tablet? Thanks x
Hi
I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. This could be because this is a very active group and it's easy for posts to fall off the first page before the person with the right experience sees it. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the list.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Natrin,
Your Breast care nurse can sort your voucher for your wig.
Re dental appointment I had to have check up with my own dentist and make my own appointment.Check with your BCN that that's the Chase in your area.
Your BCN will also be able to give you the protocol for your ovary switch off.Injection and or tablets usually.
Best wishes,
Yvie
Hi. Not sure about the wig, but your comment about putting your ovary to sleep made me smile. I've been on zolodax injections for the last 20 weeks to make my ovaries sleepy, it's an injection into the belly (sounds worse than it is, it isn't painful, just a pinch of some belly fat and it's done), and they do it every 4 weeks. It's been fine for me, I had some hot flushes for the first few injections, but they seem to have calmed down now. Otherwise, I had some mild headaches for the first few injections, but they may have been from other meds I was talking for side effects while on EC. I started the injections a week before my first chemo.
