Hello my Sisters,
I finished my chemo at the end of January and have decided to have a lumpectomy. I has been 6 weeks since then, have I taken too long? Is there a certain amount of time you have from your last chemo to the time you have surgery?
Hi
I had 6 weeks between finishing chemo and having surgery. For me, they wanted to make sure my bloods were back up to a reasonable level as well as waiting for results from a biopsy and availability of my surgeon. Like ral said I don’t think there’s an optimum time between the two but best contact your team to discuss, if only to put your mind at rest. Hope your surgery goes well!

Thank you Ral and Loffie.
I haven't got much support because I have been stuck abroad and flights have just opened up. I had to have chemo here and then wait till my immune system was back up - it is now. So wanted to know if I could come back home to get treatment (lumpectormy) without delay because it has been 7 weeks already. So stressed
How was the lumpectomy? Are you on radiotherapy now?
