Hello again to all,

I am now recovering from my lumpectomy and lymph nodes removal procedure, sore and tired, and with the feeling that this is now very real. Have to wait two weeks for results and find out what happens next. The waiting is very hard and scary, am trying not to think about it too much but I'm not sleeping well at all, any tips from you lovely ladies. I'd love a soak in the bath but can't, just want to feel like me again .

The wait will soon be over and then you can concentrate on the next phase of your treatment.  It is a roller coaster, the down bit is the waiting for news and the up bit is your treatment.  Bear in mind that it does come to an end and that is what you are working towards.  I was OK having a bath after surgery because I had waterproof dressings.  All the best for your future treatments.

  • I hear you... a cup of tea in an Epsom salts bath was my want post lumpectomy - managed to have a shallow bath and pop my arm under my breast 6 weeks post op, but my scar was around my nipple so easier to keep dry. Just being here and able to share and read other journeys and concerns really helped me, so hope it does you too. It helped put my experience into perspective. I was so lucky to catch it so early and like you, didn’t get a diagnosis until after surgery. I went totally caffeine free and really focused energies on eating extra healthily with reducing sugar and seriously upping greens. Other than bed and bath, the garden has been my sanctuary at home, plus local walks... plenty of fresh air. Maybe some guided meditations if that’s your thing? Best of luck with your diagnosis and rest of treatment. Keep us posted x
