Hi I have had my first treatment 2 weeks ago. Although I fully expected to lose my hair I haven’t yet however the top of my head on my left side is really sore. Is this normal? Thanks Imbolc x
Hi Imbolc
Not sure how common it is (maybe those on the monthly chemo thread can tell you) but I had quite a sore head, for me it was caused by the friction of my shaved head against things (shaving too short also doesn't help) so invested in some light chemo caps to wear as well as silk pillow cases (get me!!)...mine improved with these and as I got used to the lack of hair.
Good luck with rest of treatments.
Sam
Hi Imbolc
Hate to say it but you can get a sore head just before a hair loss as the follicles move around . I can remember hooding hair down in a breeze because it was hurting so much . As Sam says wearing a hat helps . A bamboo sleep beanies really helps keep the loose hairs away from face while you sleep as well . I kept hair cut really short rather than shaving straight away and then only shaved using no 2 so not too much of stubble problem .
hope this helps
