Has anyone had the covud vaccination yet while still having chemotherapy? If so did you have any side effects?
If it helps my 26 residents and 19 staff have all had their first dose and overall no side effects but some sore arms and headache. 2 complained of nausea. Nothing that lasted more than a couple of days.
I know they aren't going through treatment but I hope it gives you a bit of reassurance.
I had mine in December and just a sore shoulder for me.

Hi StarsAl
I had mine 10 days ago on the way home from Chemo. I really didnt fancy it then however, as my Oncologist felt it should be within a few days of having had my bloods done, I accepted a cancellation from my medical centre which I took while having Chemo. Was Okay for a few days then felt my abit of mild swelling on the back of my knees. Got slightly bigger but also uncomfortable while at the same time noticing all other lymth node areas getting sore and tight!!!!! After landing in hospital to check I didnt have an infection and doing some research I realised its a side effect of the Oxford vaccine albeit an uncommon one (1 in 100) not that uncommon really!!! Apparently can take between 2 and 4 weeks to clear and doing daily self massage to try and help Lymth drainage.
YIP.... of course Im gonna get an unusual side effect!!!!!! Gonna get scunnered of saying' why not me' one of these days!!! Anyhow apart from that all else is okay and I wouldn't even consider not getting it even though we dont know what level of protection it will give us. Im 2 sets of 6 chemo's down so thinking ill prpbably get the second one after my last chemo and hopefully get some longer lasting protection then. Sorry about the Essay!!! Good Luck to all and hopefully no sideeffects for you xx
I had my vaccine on the 6th Feb, I'm on cape oral chemo, I didn't have any side effects. X
Hi StarsAl
I had the Astra Zenica Covid vaccine on on Saturday. I am 3 cycles of EC down and about to start Docetaxel plus trastuzumab and pertusumab tomorrow. Checked in advance with specialist onco nurse after getting appt from GP - just to make sure that it was ok . She said yes, that they had been given guidance on this. She advised that there was no preference with respect to vaccine type and to go for it.
Tender arm at site of jab for a couple of days. Apart from that, fine. Hope that this helps.
