Hi Netax, glad you feel better now. I really didn’t feel ill, well not infection type Ill. I guess existing Chemo side effects may have masked it a bit. My temperature has been 37.1 for the last four hours without the need for paracetamol, yayyyy!! I’m hoping with regular injections hopefully I can keep my white blood cell count up and it won’t effect my blood count so much next time. I will ask if maybe a lower dose might be better next time.
Keep Safe

Hi 4RR, hope you are doing ok after your first treatment x I’m doing ok now, thankfully the covid symptoms were mild. My isolation finishes at midnight tonight, so I’m going to go for a walk tomorrow and see my grandson x I’ve still not looked up those zoom sessions, I really must x I’m looking forward to getting started on Thursday.
Hi Bekky, thanks for your reply. Sorry that your chemo was delayed too.. it does mess with your head a bit, doesn’t it? I’m feeling tons better and luckily I didn’t have really bad covid symptoms. I’m ready for Thursday now.. I need to start my treatment journey.. although I am a little apprehensive x thank you for your kind words xx you take care xx

Hi PatsyP2,
Had a lovely call with the chemo nurses this morning who confirmed I do not have to go in tomorrow and they’ll see me after surgery for Herceptin only. Which was news to me but makes sense given I’m HER2+ She said to make sure I book a follow up with onco after surgery as I may be lost in the system as my last onco appt was left open pending a surgery date. So there we go! I did enjoy my wine thanks, I forgot that I’d a glass of fizz at Christmas as my treatment was delayed by a week so I had an extra week of feeling better. Good luck with the rest of your chemo. The last one next week I believe? Bet you can’t quite believe it’s almost done! You’ve done so well, I know how much you’ve had to drag yourself to go.
HollythecatGood luck for your final one this week too! Daunting having to go to a new unit but I bet the nurses are still really lovely and then that will be finished!! Congrats on your husband retiring and glad you got to enjoy a wine too. Even if it did cause flushing!
This thread has been such a godsend when covid has meant in person support groups have had to be stopped. Thank you to all my online friends Xxx
Hi DawnieD25 thanks for asking! I've been OK - just really, really tired and a bit nauseous - all manageable with rest (most of the time) and drugs! Have managed to sit in my garden every day and the spring flowers, sunshine, blue skies and birdsong have been amazing.
Good luck to you this week - the anticipation really is the worst part, in my experience. I was only at the hospital for 3 hours, no cold cap (decided it was too much hassle) and the nurses were amazing.
I've had to call for some basic advice since and no question has been too small - they are there to make it easy for you!
Let me know how you go!
Xxx
Hi I find the night sweats last for about a week after my EC then ease off. I’ve had two cycles of EC so far and it’s been manageable with meds. I didn’t expect these flushes-as I’m through menopause.
Walking definitely helps tiredness and lifts your mood I’ve found. Wishing you all the best and hope side effects stay minimal.
Wishing you all peace and calm in the storm...with a helping of laughter and joy to bring healing ️
Hey 4RR, I’m so pleased you are doing ok x it’s a bit daunting isn’t it’s? It’s been a lovely weekend here too, today was misty and drizzle.. typical x
I’m not going to bother with the cold cap either, it does seem too much hassle. I might take a look at some funky wigs
take care xx

Fantastic news Daydreamer6 So happy for you that you don’t have to go through any more chemo. And you must be so pleased just to have it sorted. Good luck with your surgery - a walk in the park compared to chemo. I am Her2-, so know little about Herceptin, but have seen a couple of ladies popping into my unit for their doses when I have been there all day. In and out in a short time and sitting there working whilst having the infusion and looking very well. So hope that will be an easy enough time for you. A pain having to go in regularly but I believe it is a very successful treatment.
Yes, just a week to go for me now. Bloods next Tuesday & treatment Wednesday. I will still struggle to get there & would happily run away but my mood & mindset has changed quite dramatically now that there is only one left. The paclitaxel just seems to make me tired & achey for a few days & I am now getting myself back into some sort of organised life & getting on with things that have been neglected or dealt with only when urgent since last October when I had surgery. I still have radiotherapy to get through in April & hormone tablets will also start then but I do feel that I have reached a turning point. Still got to get through next Wednesday & the few days after but I am sure I will!!
And you are so right that this thread has been a huge support. Thanks to all you ladies for just being there and good luck to all of you just starting out. It isn’t easy but it isn’t necessarily going to be as hard as you fear and you will manage one way or another, especially with the support of one another. xx
Thank you for the kind words PatsyP2 and that is comforting to know re the Herceptin! I know what you mean about getting back in to some kind of organised life. I’m impatient to get back to my 9-5. Never thought I’d say that, but know it’s still a while away yet. We are definitely moving forward though.
Look after yourself and all the best for the remainder of your treatment and getting back to some kind of normality xx
Best wishes to everyone else on the thread, keep asking questions on anything you are unsure of, moan when you need to, share good news when you feel like it. Look after each other and time will pass quicker than you think! xx
