Setting this up a bit early....and I will ask Admin to ‘sticky’ it
Hi JanG20, had my picc line in a few weeks ago, just before starting chemo, I was there about 1 1/2 hours, my husband waited in the waiting area outside the ward, it didn’t hurt, your arm may become bruised and a bit sore, just for a while.
They didn’t give me any covers, I bought a water proof one from Amazon and a fabric cover to x

If you search fabric picc line cover on Amazon, it will bring them up xx

Hi Everyone
So after a painfully long wait for my consultant to contact me, 12 days, I finally have been able to discuss my reaction to paclitaxol and decided on my final weeks treatment plan.
Reactions to paclitaxol like I had are common, although what happened to me, sounded awful, it can happen, so he wasn’t concern. But I was given the options of stopping chemo, or continuing on a slower infusion and extra premeds, and if I have another bad reaction, chemo will stop.
Don’t know if I’m mad, but I have chosen to continue as I only have two sessions to go, and I want to try do everything I can to prevent the cancer coming back. Plus the good news, no extra session is being added. I was thinking my consultant would add another session, as I only managed a 1/3 of my chemo after my reaction, but lucky I will be finishing as planned.
plus already have my radiotherapy planning meeting appointment come through!
Hope everyone is doing okay!
Xxx
Hi Kelstar
Good to see you have a plan for moving forward, it is so hard knowing what decisions to make sometimes. I ended up with my paclitaxel being stopped after 8 of my weekly doses due to my face rash. I was a bit worried about stopping and whether it would have the maximum affect, but my oncologist assured me I had been given enough for it to do it's work.
Good luck with your final two sessions
x
Glad to hear you finally had your appointment and can now continue on with a plan!
I summoned all my energy today to get through my mid chemo - pre surgery MRI to see exactly what surgery will be required. Obviously they don’t give anything away so now the wait for the results appt..
Must admit I did feel better for getting out of the house and it helps that my hospital is a very short drive away.
Hollythecathope you managed some extra sleep and feel a bit brighter.
thinking of you & I hope you are now feeling less nauseous.
Wishing everyone a good night’s sleep tonight xx
