Hello.two weeks ago I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I went for an mri last week and they found a second lump. The first is 10 mm the second is 8 mm, so both small. They have also found a lump under my arm. So I’m going back for ultrasound and biopsy. Feel like I’m living on borrowed time!
Thank you lesley, because I have chosen masectomy with reconstruction he advised I am not needing an mri, I only would if chose lumpectomy. I suppose that would be to give them a more detailed picture of my breast. He advised it is small, I still cannot feel it and I did have an enhanced mammogram, which showed its small. Would they of know if it was large from my mammogram pls xx
Thank you lesley, you have been a great mode of support, he did advise stage 1 grade 2 but obviously need that confirmed, I an sure if was large I would be going through different treatment. Or they would of said. Was you advised of a size from your mammogram xxx
The size was measured during the ultrasound I had immediately after the mammogram. For larger lumps they sometimes suggest chemo to see if they can reduce the size but as I had 3 quite large lumps and the fact that the type I had (lobular, er+) was not particularly receptive to chemo, they went straight to mastectomy.
Thank you so the fact mine shown small on mammogram, I can't feel it yet, don't think they could see it on ultrasound. It was diagnosed with a vacuum biopsy so they take more tissue don't they, so hoping with these indicators and clear nodes it's small, xx
Hi Mal70 advised my mammogram showed breast distorsion, it's non palpable and consultant advised its small, and did not show on ultrasound. Its not been sized, how are they usually sized, i had an enhanced mammogram, consultant would of known if this was large and I am thinking it would of shown on ultrasound. You turn everything into a negative don't u, its so hard xx
Hi lesley63 so surely they would know if mine was large, had screening mammogram and enhanced mammogram and ultrasound. Did you have any other tests xxx
