Hi I'm new to here. Last Monday found out I have invasive lobular breast cancer grade 2. Was a shock to me has only 44. Yes I do smoke but have cut down alot but want to stop. Had my mri scan today. I'm nervous. And my moods and emotions are up and down. Truth I'm scared

  • Sorry you find yourself here but you'll get through this but as an ex smoker the fags have to go!   I gave up by carrying packet with me and telling myself if I was still craving in 5 minutes I could have one.  If I missed 5 minute I had to start count down again!  It worked as it stopped panic of not having a cigarette to feed addiction .  27 years later I could still smoke a fag but I won't ruin my achievement.  You can go this x

  • My advice stay positive. I had same diagnosis a year ago and was Her2 positive which meant additional treatment. But I am almost done with everything apart from 5 years of tabs and will know on Monday if all my treatment is finished. Don’t google too much all you will find is the bad stuff. It’s a different journey for everyone and mine was not too bad and went very quickly. Keep busy and try to lead as normal a life as poss. Don’t let it rule you. I played tennis and carried on running throughout exercise definitely helps. Good luck.

    Stay Positive.

    Ho,Which stage did you have

  • Hi,

Two weeks ago I found out I had the exact same thing. The tumour is 4cm and as my breast is only small I have to have a mastectomy. It's gone to my lymph nodes too so have to have them removed. I know exactly how you feel and am so scared too.

Fingers crossed for us both . All we can do is keep positive x

Two weeks ago i found out too.which hospital are you going? Which stage did you have

  • Hi,

If your tumour is 8cm are you having a mastectomy?

  • I live in Manchester so am going there. Where are you? I haven't had a scan but they said the mastectomy was the only choice. Am wondering now if I should have the scan first. I really hope you're results are good x
