Just returned from follow up appointment following lumpectomy in Feb, chemo then radiotherapy. Consultant sending me for ultrasound to check out hard area - I’m worried. Anyone had similar?
Hi Paris66 welcome to the forum and sorry that you haven't had a reply as yet. I think it is best to have the hard area checked out as this could be a seroma( a collection of old blood form the surgery) or it could be scar tissue again form the surgery.
I cna understand though why you are worried and its the fear of the unknown that is the worst so hopefully when that is checked out for you it will be good news and offer you much needed re-assurance.
Please do keep in touch with us and let us know how you get on.
Sending some huge big hugs your way for now.xxx
Hi
I had just the same (and still have), lots of lumps and bumps following auxiliary node clearance. Had an ultrasound as the BCN was also thinking it could be something nefarious and showed its just scar tissue, easy to say but try not to worry unnecessarily.
Speedy recovery.
Sam
Had ultrasound scan today. They think it is scar tissue but hard to see clearly as I have such dense breast tissue. Taken a biopsy to be Yet another wait! X
