Hello,
My mum’s sister was diagnosed with breast cancer her2+ over a year ago, she went through the chemo and had a surgery. Couple of weeks ago she found two new lumps that had to be removed...She also has myeloma which has been in remission for years. She was told she might need treatment with Lapatinib.
I would like to ask if anyone here has been treated with this drug and if it was helpful? Also I heard it is hard to get on NHS - I would appreciate if anyone knew if there was some other way of getting this treatment please?
Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that your aunt has myeloma and has recently had to have two lumps removed from her breast. I can't help with any experience of Lapatinib but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses yet.
If you type 'Lapatinib' into the search bar at the top of the page it'll bring up previous posts which mention this drug which you could have a look through. I've also found this information for you on the Cancer Research website which gives lots of information.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your aunt's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
