I did find a post from about 4 years ago about this. The reason that I'm posting now is to ask if other people have this sensation and how long does it go on for. In the earlier post no one gave a time frame. However, I did find out that crusty nipple is not unusual. That is reassuring although it's still not nice.

I'm sorry to read that you are getting shooting pains in your breast and, although I can't share any experiences of this with you, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussions list.
If you haven't done so already you might want to give your BCNS a call and talk to her about your symptoms.
