Invasive ductile cancer.....
Stage 3, 1 node, er positive, her2 positive,
Awaiting PET scan as there's a spot on my sternum they are concerned about. Could just be scarring..... I've had an injury in the past and pray to god it's from that.
Treatment starts in a couple of weeks....
About as bad as it gets.....
Hi louisewomble
really saddened to read your dreadful news, a truly awful time for you. Try to keep positive, so difficult after devastating news, and look after yourself by eating as well as you can. Sleep is going to be so difficult now but do try. Your head must be in complete turmoil with this news.
what is your treatment plan? Can you try to focus on getting yourself as physically strong as possible in these two weeks to help the treatment get its best possible results?
sending you a huge cyber hug x
Cancer may affect my body, but I won’t let it affect my spirit
Thanks for saying its dreadful....not very tactful are you.....
Many apologies Louisewomble - well said - I will try to be more tactful going forwards - thank you
wishing you all the best

Louisewomble......Hope you don't have to wait too long for the TEP scan. At least.....whatever it shows....you will know where you are and if it shows something, that can be treated too. My TEP scan was clear and that was so reassuring throughout my treatment. I had already had my op. In your situation, although I know how worried you are, there may also be nothing but previous scarring and you can relax and deal with the BC but if there is something, knowing what to treat will mean a much more successful outcome than guess work could have provided in the past.
I wish you well. Keep in touch with your progress.
Love Karen
P.S. I'm assuming you know what the TEP scan entails but if you have any questions, please ask. I hadn't found Macmillan when I had mine and although the surgeon briefly explained, it was actually nothing like I anticipated....nowhere near as daunting!
Hi louisewomble
Sorry to hear that news and I do hope that the PET scan shows that there is nothing further to worry about and that you don't have to wait too long for the scan and results.
I am still very much a newbie here, having only just started on my treatment path but I have found that - just as everyone said - things do get easier when treatment is under way. Will you be having chemo or surgery first? You must be incredibly worried now and not able to think of anything else but all I can say is that somehow you will get through this stage and once the treatment starts you will finally be on the way to dealing with all this.
Sending a virtual hug and wishing you well.
HI Louisewomble, Sorry to hear that your diagnosis wasn't as good as you'd hoped. But and it is a big but the cure rate for all types of breast cancer is so much better than it was even a few years ago. You will naturally be in shock at the moment but once you start treatment proper you will find it much easier to cope. The waiting again for the PET scan is not good but hopefully it will be arranged very soon.In the meantime if you seek further info from recognised sources such as Macmillan or Breast Cancer Care you will not be led astray. Please do not visit Dr Google as he is often very misleading or worse still just plain wrong.Sending very big hugs xx
I'm hoping that the results from the scan will be ok. Louisewomble
It appears that you're at that gathering information time and finally it will all be used to put together a plan for you. Then it all moves forward. Do keep asking questions, do follow good advice ie not some so called expert on fb and try to take each day at a time. It's a long journey which I am still on, but each day is a step closer to my goal.
Hi Louisewomble welcome to the site nobody wants to be on but are grateful when we realise how much support and advice is here .
my story is on profile if you want to read .
In short I was diagnosed in 2019 with invasive and non invasive had a right side mastectomy within 8 days on the 4th of July . The results of surgery biopsies was Her2 positive .so chemo was added to plan also no with Her2 treatment longer term .
I know it's hard to believe but it does get better ,the waiting is the worst time once you have a treatment plan you can get on with it . There are lots of treatment now for BC and for Her2.
Try to distract yourself whilst waiting ,keep busy and concentrate on eating well and exercising so you can cope better going forward . I cleaned the whole house never had such organised cupboards in kitchen lol
Have a browse at threads lots of interesting ones just jump in when you want you will be welcomed Do try to stay off google it's out of date and usually wrong . Ask questions on here and someone usually comes along who has been there done that of like yourself at that rollercoaster of just being diagnosed
keep posting it does help
