Hi everyone Hope your all well has been a while since iv been here iv been trying to get in with things but it’s very difficult there’s always an issue going on since iv had breast reconstruction. few wks ago I somehow fractured my ribs as I was in hopsital for a checkup the nurse made me very anxious as she mentioned a lump in my breast being through breast cancer treatment and just recovering diep flap surgery a year on then she asked me what I had done to my tummy referring to the surgery scar so I called my breast care nurse the following morning as I had a sleepless night so I went and had this checked and turned out to be some liquid in my breast so they drained it after that I had my tatoo surgery a week later but the last 2 weeks my breast is very red and iv had it checked and have been told is infected and am now on antibiotics am so stressed out as I was starting training for fostering and now iv been told to put that on hold I feel my life’s stopped again I’m not sure if anyone else has been through this infection of breast any advice will be really appreciated- thankyou in advance and am sorry for going on and on

So stressed

  • Please never apologise for going on! We are here to listen, empathise and hopefully to help even if just lending an ear!

i hope the antibiotics do their stuff and the infection goes, take this one step at a time.
Your BCN should help you out here, so do keep in touch with her.

Sending you a gentle hug xxx

  • Thankyou so much moomy it really helps being on here as everyone understands I do have family support but am told to get on with it as my treatment is now over - I live on my own I have great support from close friends but due to lockdown its very difficult the BCN is amazing she seen me first thing on Monday and marked the area I have to go back tomorrow to see the surgeon see what he thinks - xx

  • Well this just shows that your treatment isn’t over, it’s ongoing! So glad you’ve a good caring BCN, they can be worth their weight in gold! (Yes I’ve been back with minor niggles and mine are super too!)

Keep on hoping for the best result....

  • Hi, I hope today you will be seen and reassured and that the area marked is reducing; so that the antibiotics do their work well. If not then they may well try a different antibiotic?
