Hi everyone,
On Tuesday I had my left mastectomy and implant surgery. All went well. My surgeon says that he managed to locate my central lymph node and as far as he can see it so far all looks ok. Here’s hoping that it hasn’t spread to this lymph node. He’s told me it’s about 50/50 as to whether I will require radio therapy and again I will find this out in a couple of weeks too. Anyhow - I’m massively relIeved that my operation Is now done. The pain has kicked in a bit this evening with it being particularly sore under my arm. I’ve been sent home with Oramorph which along side paracetamol is controlling my pain to a manageable level. I have had an implant fitted that will be inflated with saline. I think they maybe be doing this tomorrow as long as the blood from my drains are low as they will need to take these two drains out first. I’m actually really pleased with how my mastectomy boob already looks. It’s looks far better than I thought it would and the lack of nipple isn’t bad either. If anyone out there wants to ask me any questions about my surgery then please feel free to do so. X
