Just curious really if your hair was a different colour or texture when it grew back after chemo and how long did it take to grow back? I'm still at the peachy fuzz stage at the moment, 7 weeks post chemo.

It was funny, people kept telling me I had a nice shaped head - that was definitely a new one - I was always very short before so even though not got it all back yet, I think still being short isn't noticing too much.

    Love the humpty dumpty description.

And I love to flowers scenario - so pretty.

Hi coffeepot, thanks for sharing the hair food products. My hair seems to be coming on swifter now, at least my partner swears it is and my eyebrows & eyelashes are both growing back (fast & furious!) which really does make a big difference. I'm looking forward to those wild hair days ahead :)

  • Hi there, I finished chemo on 31 Jan but have been disappointed in hair regrowth! It’s not very long, maybe an inch but it’s sparse at the front. It’s come in quite a nice colour of metallic grey which I’m ok with. I had no hair even in March even though in normal times it grew quickly! I was wondering if taking Letrozole had anything to do with it?!

Hi bramble22, I've not started any hormone treatment myself yet as have been told it will be after radiotherapy and don't know enough about hormone treatment to answer your question. It does sound slow, but is the hair growth proceeding still or has it stopped altogether? If it is still coming along albeit slowly than perhaps all you require is a bit of extra time, it might be due to the Letrozole as you say, I just don't know enough about it, but have you been in touch with your oncologist about this, or your breast care nurse? They might be able to help x

  • Hi  thanks for getting back to be. My OH says it is growing, just very very slowly. It’s the sparseness that’s getting to me! Have an appointment on 15 October with Oncologist so will ask her then. Thanks again. x

Just a tip regarding your appointment with your oncologist Bramble22, ask if there any supplements or multivitamins that might speed up your hair regrowth that would be safe for you to take. I am currently taking a vit D3 supplement which my oncologist said was OK to use. It seems my hair is growing out grey too, I've decided to embrace it and see how it suits me.

  • Hi  thanks for the tip, I’ll ask my Oncologist when I see her. I am also going to embrace the grey...hopefully more than I have now! Slight smile
