This afternoon I received a diagnosis of grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma and high grade DCIS. Still waiting on HER2 results but PR 0 and ER 4. I'm waiting to hear on order of things, but know I will be doing several rounds of chemo and will have a mastectomy of my left breast.
The consultant has stated that lymph glands are clear based on CT scan, but have a dull ache in my armpit that has been present since the biopsy. Is this common? I'm probably paranoid, but can't help worrying about it.
Hi Hennie27
I am sorry you are going through this. I think once you start this process you tend to think every strange ache or sensation is cancer. It’s likely your surgery will include a sentinel node biopsy which will provide a definitive answer for you. It’s daunting facing chemo and a mastectomy, however just take it one step at a time and you will get through it. Most people have good outcomes.

I have metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer, in remission
Thanks for replying. It's comforting knowing that you aren't alone. I don't really know anyone that has had cancer. It's not something that runs in my family and no friends either (long may that continue). Means I don't really have anyone to ask and I always think of questions hours after the appointment
