Hi everyone
I was diagnosed with secondry breast cancer in the right humerous bone and left hip on Christmas eve 25 whilst away on holiday after having a bone scan and MRI in the Nov
Since then it's been a round of more scans and consultant appointments bone biopsy had to travel for 3 hrs to a hosp for 2 apps and bone biopsy only having my first Oncology appointment Fri 1st May to be honest I've been feeling a bit numb as I'd thought it wouldn't come back from breast cancer in 2012 and feeling quite low and a bit bad tempered my hubbie is very patient

Will be having Anastrozole long term to reduce estrogen Palbociclib cancer drug 24 months initially will stop on if working and high dose of Radiotherapy
Have you heard anything about the two drugs I'd already been on Tamoxifen for breast cancer
Best wishes Babs
Hi Babs2k
i’m on Anastrozole and have been since 2024. I’m getting on well with it. I don’t know anything about the other drug you will be on. If you look on the drugs section of this site you should be able to find some information on it.
Best wishes

Hi Babs, I had lobular breast cancer in 2012/13. Had lumpectomy, chemo and radiotherapy then tamoxifen and anastrozole. Diagnosed with secondary breast cancer end of 2024 with mets in pelvis, hips, spine , ribs and skull. I am on Exemastane which is like Anastrozole, ribociclib which is like palbociclib and denosumab injections to strengthen the bones. I have had radiotherapy on my spine to help with the pain. Last scan couldn't see skull mets and cancer is stable so good news.

Hi Lee
You certainly have a lot to contend with must be very stressful for you and it's good that there's no mets in the skull and everything is stable so that it keeps that way
Have you had any side affects I've been feeling quite tired and a bit off on Anastrazole but it could be stress related didn't have any problems previously with Tamoxifen.
I'm due to have my bone strengthening injection next week and the cancer drug So feeling a bit apprehensive
Babs xx
Hi Babs I had a really bad skin reaction to 600mg Ribociclib so oncologist has reduced my dose to 400mg and it seems fine now. I do get tired but I find keeping active really helps me. I walk every day and do Tai Chi on a Friday. I have to be careful as I have lots of mets in my spine but gentle excercise is okay. I have a back brace to wear when I go walking. Are you having denosumab for your bones. I have ribociclib every day for three weeks, then one week off. Have bloods done every four weeks and then go and have my denosumab every four weeks too. I really hope that you get on okay with your treatment. When are you going in?

Hi Lee
It's the side affects that I'm a bit apprehensive about I'm already feeling a bit tired on Anastrazole
I'll be on Palbociclib cancer drug 21 days on 7 days off then repeat initially for 2 years if working to carry on, if not will go on something else, also Denosumab to strengthen bones long term have to go for blood test min 2 days before this is every 4 weeks going Mon for blood test.
I'm having 1 high strength radiotherapy session this coming Tues at 12 noon then have to go to have injection plus given cancer pills at another hosp straight after so is going to be a bit of a rush
I do try and stay active going for short walks to hopefully keep my strength up
Babs xx
