Apologies as new to this type of thing....
Had surgery end of January to remove lump and calcification which hasn't spread to lymph nodes and isn't fed by hormones.
Had my 1st trastuzumab and paclitaxel last week. 2nd paclitaxel tomorrow. Consultant said my hair may or may not thin, nurse said not to wash hair daily and to avoid heat appliances. Any other recommendations as I have lots of hair but it's very fine. Scalp feels itchy, should I use any particular shampoo to ease this?
Hi, hope your chemo is going well and you're coping ok with the side effects.
regarding your question on hair, this information might help. Hair Loss Info
Best wishes
Hi, I’ve also got HER2 pos also ER pos and PR pos. My chemo is due to start in a couple of weeks. The nurse said with my thick hair I might be a good candidate for the cold cap to help prevent hair loss so I may give that a try. They intend to do chemo first then surgery after as my lump is over 2 cm, but you’ve already had surgery? Reading this forum makes me realise just how many different variations of breast cancer there are and how many different treatments.
Thanks, will have a read.
Chemo went alright yesterday. Had tingling sensational in my hand, nurse gave me a heated blanket and that helped. Fingers crossed it carries on like this.
I had surgery then had to wait to check they had removed it all.
Was passed on for chemo and will then need radiotherapy after.
They told me so many different types and each patient has their own path for treatment. Very overwhelming at first as don't know about you but they speak to you in what seems like a foreign language. I had to ask questions so I could get my head round it.
Good luck with your treatment x
I'm new to the forum having only joined but saw on another post someone mentioning using Daniel Fields products whilst cold capping, which helped them but I guess everyone is different xx
