Hi
I m due to start Zoledronic Acid infusion every 6 months for 3 years alongside Kadcyla chemo every 3 weeks which I've already started for HER2+ breast cancer.
I've had little to no side effects from kadcyla but I'm worried about the short and long term side effects of zoledronic acid as It sits in the bones for years after treatment and frankly I'm scared!
I've also been told the first one could cause flu like symptoms but I'm reading a lot about severe pain, fracture risks and jae (albeit rare) necrosis. Once ZA is in your body it can't be reversed. Do the benefits outweigh the side effects and risks?
My initial chemo treatment was horrendous and someone said this is worse than chemo...!!
I'm probably over thinking it but I'm hesitating about going ahead as the fear has gripped me!
Any advice from those already going through it would be welcome.
