Hello everyone I have been to my G.P finally this morning about a lump in my breast.I have been putting off going for quite a while but anyway the doctor confirmed it was a cancerous lump by it's shape and how it feels. She has put an urgent referral in to the hospital which hopefully comes through in early January .How do people cope with waiting without it dominating their thoughts? The worst part is having to tell other people at the moment I feel strangely calm.
Hi owl
Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum. I'm sorry to hear that you are facing a breast cancer diagnosis. I coped with waiting by doing the things I love to do, like going for a walk everyday with my dog and reading.
Wishing you the best of luck with your appointment when you have it.
Best wishes

Hi, like Daisy, I kept myself busy and distracted, by working, reading, walking etc. And to help me sleep I used a mindfulness app as I found night time harder to keep the thoughts at bay. Best wishes
Thank you so much for your reply.Yes thoughts do tend to go round my head at night which are not always helpful.I shall try to find an app that I like.Best Wishes to you.
