Hello, I am a cancer survivor, had triple negative breast cancer back in 2019, had the chemotherapy, radiotherapy, Lumpectomy treatment plan.
All treatment ended in November of that year. Went through the 5 year mammogram cycle, which ended in Jan 2025.
I have been called back for another mammogram on both boobs next week, wondering if this is normal?, getting a bit worried as I've been experiencing lower back pain in the last week and also a slight change in the feeling of the affected breast. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I had a letter for a routine mammogram during my active treatment, I actually found this a bit upsetting and I spoke to my GP surgery who told me that the department that sends out the routine letters isn't connected to the dept that records someone who actually has breast cancer. Which all seems a bit mad to me! So I wonder if you have had the routine appointment? In any case, as you’ve noticed some changes, that is worth getting checked out. Best wishes
