  • Hi BFAeee2Be

Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum.  I'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Breast cancer is very treatable these days and while I won't say it's easy chemo is doable and you get all the help you will need to try to prevent any side effects.

I've been diagnosed with breast cancer twice, the first time over five years ago at the height of Covid and it was grade 3.  After having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I made a full recovery.  The second time I was diagnosed was over 2 years ago and again with treatment I made a full recovery and I've been cancer free for just over 2 years. I had very few side effects and I managed to get out for a walk most days during treatment.

Feel free to pop on anytime you are feeling scared as there is nearly always someone around who will be able to give you support.

Wishing you the best of luck with chemo and hopefully you won't have any side effects.

    Best wishes

  • Hi Daisy 53, mine is triple negative I guess that is what has stuck with me and its aggressive and cannot get that out of my head now, feeling so low cannot stop crying and so worried about the future, I am trying to not be silky but its hard,

  • Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with grade 2 invasive breast cancer and I am scared.  It’s the unknown.

  • I am with you well I have spent the day telling my family and im now exhausted from talking and crying. But tomorrow is another day and we can beat this i know but like you scared of the unknown let's keep talking, let me know when you know next steps and we can share experience

    Take care

  • I have yet to tell my family and friends.  I have elderly parents and planning to tell them at the weekend. It’s tough to do this.

  • Hi

Mine was grade 3, HER2+ but the good news is, like you, I was only stage 1. There really are some highly effective treatments.

I’m almost a year past surgery - which I had before chemo and then radiotherapy. Don’t lose sight of the future. The treatment often sounds a bit heavy going, but so many of us have got through them. For me it was nowhere near as bad as I expected.

If you’re into statistics, the Cancer Research website has some amazing charts showing the 10 yr survival rates for various cancers. The stats for stage 1 breast cancer are extremely encouraging

Good luck. You will feel better when you know what your treatment entails. X

  • Thank you for this

  • Hello.
Welcome to the forum. I am so sorry that you are going through this. It is scary, but once you get a treatment plan, it does get easier.

Keep going. You have got this.

My first bout of breast cancer was triple negative breast cancer.   What you are feeling is perfectly natural, so cry as much as you want. What I found helped was taking things a day at a time. Hopefully you'll start to feel better once you start chemo.
