Hi all - I was diagnosed with invasive lobular (hormone receptive) in late August and following lots of scans etc I've finally got my surgery date of 11 December.
Thankfully it was caught relatively early - my boob had changed shape and there was a thickening of tissue below the nipple as opposed to a lump. The MRI showed that it's just over 6cm.
I'm having a mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction and I can't wait to just get there and get it done. They did oncotype testing on my original biopsy samples and my results are low enough that they have said I shouldn't need chemo - thank god! That's the bit I was scared of. I'll have to have hormone therapy though, which sounds a bit daunting as I'm pre-menopause and not sure about the physical and mental effects of that.
I hope you're all doing well - it would be good to hear from anyone who has already been through the same type of cancer and treatment, or anyone who is at the same point as me.

Hi VCB_ebb255
Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum. I'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I was diagnosed with hormone receptive breast cancer over two years ago and I've been on hormone therapy for nearly two years. I'm finding the hormone therapy ok, I'm not having too many side effects with it. I get hot flushes now and again and feel tired sometimes.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.
Best wishes
