Her2positive

27 days ago, I had a biopsy for two large lumps in my left breast and one in my armpit. At that time, I was told it’s most likely cancer, but I had to wait for the results. Today, after 27 long and difficult days, I finally received the report: Stage 3, HER2-positive breast cancer.

I honestly don’t know why these 27 days felt like an entire year. Ever since I first heard the word “cancer,” my mind has been locked,

If anyone here has had a similar diagnosis, I would be so grateful to hear your experiences and encouragement. I truly need some hope and strength right now. RosePray

  • Hi I'm in a similar position HER2 positive and it took from the end of June until mid August to get the results!

Chemo starts 22nd September to shrink the lump and then a review in December when I'm in the middle of the chemo. Then it'll be surgery and radiotherapy.

Everyone I've seen at the hospital have been very positive but it's such a lot to take in initially.

I registered here yesterday so that I can ask for help and advice.

I'm sure people who are going through this will help on here.

  • Hi, welcome to the club that no one wants to join. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but you've found a good place here for support.

I was diagnosed with HER positive cancer in 2021. I had chemo, lumpectomy, radiotherapy and am on letrozole meds and 6 monthly zoledronic acid infusions.

I'm back at work full time and have an active job with lots of travel.  Whilst treatment was tough, I found it very do-able.

I blogged throughout, if you have some time to read it, this might be helpful for you. Blog link

  • Hi,

Recently diagnosed with HER2 positive here too, it's been a long wait for me aswell, since beginning of July and I agree it's felt like a year. chemo starts 23rd and after all the waiting things seam to be moving along pretty quickly now, lots more appointments over the next 2 weeks.

I'm stage 3 grade 3 and having 4 x docetaxel and phesgo then 3 x EC with a scan half way through to see how it is responding and discuss what type of surgery I'll need. Then following surgery either more chemo or radiotherapy.

Sending you love and hugs, we've got this Muscle
