Hi everyone. I’ve had 3 biopsies today in my breast. Awaiting results in 2 weeks. The doctor warned me that from looking at my scans she would be surprised if it wasn’t cancer.
I’m feel very vulnerable and scared. I’ve joined this group so hopefully feel supported as to offer support in return. ️
Hi, I was in the same situation a month ago. The breast biopsies came back positive so they sent me for a MRI scan and I had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy a week ago.
I joined this group for support and people have really helped me. I was terribly shocked about having cancer and terrified of what would happen.
You may not have cancer, but if you do there are lots of people on here who have advice and suggestions to help. You will not feel alone.
I am sorry to hear of your diagnosed cancer too. I feel quite tend and sore tonight so I hope I sleep. I don’t really know much about what could happen next- I’m trying to not read too much online but equally my mind iis racing with worry.
I am glad I have found this group.
I was very much the same. Very sore after the biopsies and my mind was racing badly.
I also didn't want to read anything at first and was just guided by the medical staff who were brilliant.
The breast care nurses are lovely also and you can ring them anytime.
Hi. I just wanted to check in and see how you are feeling today? I know these things are a shock but once you know the facts from the biopsy results and a treatment plan you will feel a little bit better. I know at the moment you probably feel alone but along the way you will meet so many people in the same boat and it will make you feel a bit better. I’ve completed 10 out of 12 sessions of chemo now, had the operations and I cannot tell you how supportive everyone I have met along the way has been. Please be assured there is light at the end of the tunnel.
We’re all here to chat anytime, I can’t tell you how helpful and supportive this forum has been. Sending hugs xxx
Hi Dory74
Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum. I'm sorry to hear that you waiting on a breast cancer diagnosis. Most lumps turn out to be benign but if your doctor is right and it does turn out to be breast cancer it will more than likely be very treatable. I've had Breast Cancer twice and at one stage I had two different breast cancers in both breasts. I had chemo, radiotherapy and surgery and I am now cancer free and have been since September 2023.
Wishing you the best of luck with your results.
Best wishes
Daisy53
Thankyou for this message- that gives me hope and gives me some confidence. So many uncertainties at the moment so I’m thinking worse case scenario. Probably not the best approach but I think also the shock is a factor.
so happy you are now cancer free- fingers crossed that you remain so x
Hi sparkle,
thankyou for your message- I am taking it easy today- still in my PJs, watching Wimbledon am trying to not think about all this too much. My husband has taken the day off work to be with me.
I feel quite sore today- I think all the mammogram scans have taken it out on me. Going to continue with painkillers to help.
im supposed to be going to a concert tomorrow night- really saving my energy for this. I wont be jumping around so I think it will be ok .
Just wanted to update my original posting as I got my test results today….
I went back for my biopsy results today and was also told in one area from the 3 they tested 2 weeks ago that I have DCIS.the other 2 areas are all ok.
They have today done some more biopsies samples from some other areas that look suspicious. The area is quite near my nipple so it’s all very sore. I’ve done a bit of research online since I got back and I feel hopeful that this has been caught early- fingers crossed the other biopsies taken today aren’t anything worse.
i go back again for the next set of results in 2 weeks time , fingers crossed it’s DCIS and nothing worse.
I guess then it will be surgery to remove?
Easy to say as I was in same position Jan this year and 2 weeks wait was the hardest. She did say it looked 90% cancer but 2 lumps were and 3rd wasn’t and 3 lymph of 28 had cancer (results after DIEP op in March). Once your diagnosed plans are given and things move quickly! I was told 4/2 and had full mastectomy and re-construction along with lymph clearance. I was sat up next day outside of bed. It’s not been easy but you kind of accept it and start the plan. I’ve had 5 of 6 chemos today so one to go then radiotherapy and uplift op next year once I’ve healed. Ask away any Q’s? X
