Hello,
Happy Sunday! I am on my firsr round of Docetaxel - Day 5. Not been too bad so far - just fatigue, sore mouth, some indigestion. Last night had a good tea and felt fine. Woke up in the night and had the most appalling sensation of being sick (nothing like that so far) which did eventually pass. Does that sound normal on this grim pathway? Scared of going to bed tonight in case it happens again
Hi K.Dragon,
You sound like you are doing really well, apart from from feeling sick obviously!!
I finished Docetaxel about 5 months ago and i would say the main side effect i had was nausea and the same as you in the first round would wake up in the night feeling sick, but then for the rounds after I religiously took the anti-nausea tablets think it was Domperidone and that really helped. The nurses told me to be one step ahead and not wait until I started to feel sick just take them for days 3-8 ( I think were my worst days). But that does sound normal.
Good luck, it'll all be behind you before you know it.

I had my first round of Docetaxel & cyclophosphamide last Tuesday (first of four). I took my anti-nausea tabs for the three days prescribed and tbh was fine. I felt a bit bloated and decided not to use my ‘Bridget Jones pants’ that I still wear post surgery (Diep dmx on 23/02).
I’ve been tired, but still able to do small bits. However, I was more tired on Sunday night and yesterday had a headache all day that paracetamol won’t touch. I managed but everything was an effort and I felt really miserable and down. I still have the headache.
My tongue started to feel as if I’d had a too hot drink on Sunday afternoon and that has got slightly worse - it doesn’t stop me eating or drinking though.
Generally I’m feeling worse now than I did 3/4 days ago and although it isn’t horrendous, I feel utterly miserable and can’t stop crying and don’t want to be like this until August.
Hi SiwanH
I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum. I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling miserable after your first round of chemo. If you feel up to it I suggest that you ring your chemo ward and tell them how you are feeling. They should be able to suggest something to help make you feel better. Also it would be a good idea to take a note of your symptoms and mention them at the start of your next chemo session.
Hope you feel better soon.
Best wishes
