Hi everyone, found a lump on the 27th March, saw a doc the next day and hospital appointment at breast clinic. My lump is 28mm so quite large. Don’t know how I missed it. Last mammogram 2022 and didn’t realise you have to ask for them after 70, so cross with myself. Also two lymph nodes so feeling quite scared. Biopsy results and plan on Friday. My lump is tender (that’s how I noticed it). Anyone else had this? Can cope in the daytime but find night times the worse. It’s the unknown I suppose. Luckily have a wonderful, supportive husband. I’m 75
Hi Yarcombgirl, It’s the worst time waiting for results, did they give you any information at the breast clinic as I was told there that it was positive for cancer.
It is a shock to be told but once you get your treatment plan you just want to get on with it.
I was 75 at diagnosis and living alone but my daughter has been a wonderful support.
good luck for Friday and great you have the support of your husband X
Thank you Skylark. I was hopeful it was a cyst but the doctor said definitely no but what kind of cancer to be determined on Friday. It’s the not knowing that’s worse isn’t it. I need something to fight against.
Thank you Cazh24, that’s really good news and has given me hope for the same
Type 3 estrogen aggressive cancer and also cancer in the lymph node awaiting results on receptor (next Friday) as to go down chemo route or surgery and radiotherapy route.
feel very positive now that I know the options x
Git the diagnosis of type 3 oestrogen cancer also present in lymph nodes. Awaiting receptor results next Friday as to whether I need chemo and surgery or surgery and radiotherapy xxx
My diagnosis was Her2 triple positive and started chemotherapy 5days before Christmas 2023
Try not to worry - easier said than done I know but the anticipation of these things are far worse than the procedures and you are looked after so well.
I am twelve months on from surgery now and feel blessed that it was found early and have been offered every treatment option available regardless of my age.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
