Hi, I have just joined the forum. I was diagnosed in June. So far I've had a lumpectomy for 3.5 cm mass with aicap flap reconstruction and 1 lymph node removed.

Starting 4 month chemo in a fortnight followed by 3 weeks radiotherapy then oestrogen blockers for who knows how long.

I lurch between trying to stay positive and knowing that this will keep the cancer away and absolute terror. I'm sure that is very common among the community.  Fortunately I have a lovely network of friends who have been with me so far. They say I am strong as I appear to them but in the silence of my mind I am screaming Scream

I hope you all have at least one thing to be thankful for today. x

  • Hi!! I'm new to this but I saw your story, and im sure youre just as strong as they say you are.  I get trying to be positive, ive always been like that and i hope my own positivity can spread to you. The one thing im thankful for today is my grandma stay strong, you got this. Dont let your mind get to you. It seems cloudy right now but things will get better.

  • Morning i was disgnosed 6th July with stage 2 ILC my mass is 4cm by 4cm, im not due my op until next week and was told i wont know treatmemt until 2 weeks later and have to wait 8 - 12 weeks before i can start, im the same some days im fine, other days i get a pain somewhere else and think has it spread, im assuming its natural to go through all these emotions, its not an easy time for you and you need to be kind to yourself.  Mental Health is just as importand, take care, here if you need to chat/rant whatever you need

  • Bless you Mighty duck It's like being in a parallel world. Everyone is carrying on as normal but our world seems to come to a halt. It would just be nice to have an end date to look forward to. I feel like I'm about to go into lockdown again. The hardest part is seeing my daughter so worried about me.

I wish you well throughout your journey. x

  • Your right its like being in another dimension, we were meant to be moving to Spain but thats now on hold for how long "who knows" i wish you all the best too on your journey, keep in touch
