Hi
Im Katherine.
I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, multifocal in right breast.
Currently awaiting Mastectomy with reconstruction with silicone implant.
Looks on Dr Google has caused me a lot of anxiety as I can only see negativity around silicone implants.
Has anyone had this and done well any positive feedback appreciated

I have metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer, in remission
Hi Katherine,
I was diagnosed with breast cancer over three years ago, and I had a mastectomy with immediate reconstruction with a silicone implant. So far, no issues. It matches my other breast reasonably well. I’ve also worn my bikini since the operation and you can’t see the scarring now. Silicone implants have come a long way. I did consider a diep flap reconstruction, but I didn’t want a hugh scar on my stomach. It might not have been possible anyway, as I’m quite slim. Please ask if you have any more questions.
Try not to google!
I hope your operation goes well.
