Hello. Just curious to know (I like to be learning all the time), did you all have the oncotype dx test and if so, what was your score and your age and type of breast cancer.
Mine was 26 and I am 41 years old. My friend had the exact same cancer at the exact same time (we compared notes), (only difference mine was grade 3 and hers was grade 2). Her score was 6 and she is 67 years old. Strange that it’s such a big difference. FYI we both had her2 negative and same PR/ER status.
My oncologist said she would have recommended chemo regardless of the score number because of the grade of it. However she said they didn’t know by how much the risk of recurrence is reduced by after having chemo though which is bizarre.
Hi MissP84
The zoladex is ovary suppression as I'm premenopausal and the zoledronic acid is for bone strength
Sorry you didn't have a good experience with your oncologist. Mine seems to be genuinely passionate about ensuring I'm still here and whilst I'm avoiding chemo he wants to "throw the bus at it".
But I also understand we're all different, even with similar diagnosis. Maybe worth a chat with your BCN?
Good luck! X
