Not been here for a while..hope everyone is doing as well as they can? I have currently been taken off my letrozole and abemicilib, which i was given for breast cancer I had a mastectomy no reconstruction. I've been on them for15 months and already had the dose reduced on the abemicilib due to awful diahorrea, and they have caused watery eyes also and fatigue. Over the last few months the pains in my legs and joints has become awful, pain killers don't touch the sides,I'm trying to walk through it but some days it's hard lifting my legs they feel so heavy! I now have a pain in my hip joint which wakes me at night and I'm having trays tomorrow to rule out a mestasis to the hip bone and also looking at the knees.
It's really getting to me as I walk a lot..I'm sick of spending every day in pain. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Big hugs xx
Hi Musicmumma
I'm finding it really tough too - just on letrozole but that's enough! I had X-rays last year to my spine and lower back, all degenerative changes that I think the lack of oestrogen just makes worse. Also yes very heavy legs and aches/pain. Wish I had a magic wand to wave for you, sadly not, but you're definitely not alone. Hope you get on ok with the investigations x
Thanks for your reply. Not that I'm glad you are strugglin obviously! but least its not just me! Honestly I feel ancient some days with the pain. I've got arthritis anyway so this is just adding too it! Oh if only we had that magic wand! Big hugs xx
I'm 53 but feel much, much older physically after being really fit with no other major health conditions. I find one of the biggest problems is working out what symptoms are due to the tablet and what is something to seriously worry about - literally would be at the hospital every two minutes if I went with everything that pops up! Aaaarrrgh xx
I could have written all that myself! I have serious trouble walking because of the pain in my hip joints especially after the 15 months of Letrozole. I spoke with my GP and she arranged an X-ray and, of course, I have osteoarthritis and now I am waiting for a treatment plan. Do speak with your BC nurse or your GP, don't be shy and insist on further tests if necessary and a proper treatment. Sometimes painkillers are not enough as was in my case. They might include physiotherapy, etc. to relieve the pain. Big hug,
Lana xx
Oh really!!! Thank God I'm not alone! I will wait and see what these trays throw at me and try to work something out, don't think I can do another 8 and half years of this pain! Hugs back xx
I agree with you about what symptoms are due to what ! I know what you mean about you would be rushing to hospital every 2 minutes! I try not to worry but these pains are so bad, I'm hoping between me and the oncologist we can sort something out! Xxxx
