Hi all, I'm a 57 year old mum of 3 and Nana of 1. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Tuesday I've had biopsies taken so waiting for next appt to get results. I've got a family. history of breast cancer. My mum, her mum and my mum's sister. Still feels like I'm talking about someone else.
Hi
Very similar situation, 55 years old here, no family history, diagnosed after callback mammogram last Thursday so am a few days ahead of you, I get my biopsy results on the 22nd. The first 3 or 4 days are awful - you go to some dark places, but it's been a week since I was told and am feeling a little better. Hang in there, don't be afraid to cry, it isn't fair. Did they not give you an appointment when they did they biopsies? I got a letter then and a confirmation from the hospital in the post yesterday I think.
Hi minty 25, she's going to send me out a letter with my appt, should be within 2 weeks. The scariest part for me is going to be the appt where we find out the type and stage of cancer and what is the treatment plan. Just now I think I'm just numb. When I have details I think it will hit me. I hope your appt goes well for you.
Hello beautiful ladies. I am slightly ahead of you both. 55 year old mumma to 4 and 6 grandbabies. Life is full and blessed except my encounter with The Grinch! I had recall, appt 6th Dec. For tye following week I had 2 biopsies, MRi and several ultra sounds and mammograms. My results appointment was 27th Dec. The wait was unbearable but I managed to focus on Christmas and put it to one side. The grinch that didn't still Xmas. My tumor was 1.9mm grade 2 IDC. My lumpectomy and SLNB was 14th Jan, this week. I now wait for results of these, appointment date 3rd Feb. I am currently recovering from surgery. I have really bad anxiety at times and other times I feel positive. Waiting for results is ugly as your mind does somersaults of highs and lows. Staying positive as best as we can. They deal with diagnosis very quickly (when you look back) and we are in safe hands.
Xxxx
